Curriculum & Assessment
The Office of Institutional Assessment at the University of Florida plays a central role in supporting academic excellence by guiding faculty and departments in the continuous evaluation and improvement of student learning and program effectiveness. Through the development of annual assessment plans and reports, the office ensures that academic programs align with UF’s mission and maintain high standards of quality and accountability. At the heart of this work is a commitment to UF’s diverse and high-achieving undergraduate population. Faculty are encouraged to foster meaningful learning experiences both inside and outside the classroom, build strong relationships with students, and set high academic expectations. These efforts not only enhance student success but also reflect UF’s broader goal of creating a learning environment where all students are supported, challenged, and inspired to thrive.
CTE
The Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE) at the University of Florida supports faculty, instructors, and graduate students in creating transformative, inclusive learning environments that promote student success. CTE offers a wide range of professional development opportunities, including workshops, teaching consultations, certificate programs like Passport to Great Teaching, and initiatives such as Elevate and Faculty Learning Communities. The center also leads efforts in online course quality, textbook affordability, and innovative teaching strategies, helping educators grow their teaching practice and enhance student learning across disciplines.
