Introduction
- The C3 has organized resources into by grouping industries together into Career Pathways. Each Pathway has dedicated coaches who become expert in the nuances of those industries, and can provide specific coaching to students interested in careers that follow the pathway.
What are they?
- Career Pathways are unique to each student. They are how students get from where they are now to where they want to be in the future. In order to best serve students on their pathway, the Career Connections Center (C3) has developed Career Clusters – groups of similar occupations and industries that require similar knowledge and skills. It’s vital to recognize that major does not always equal career, that a student can build a valuable set of experiences and skills that can translate across disciplines. Career Clusters are not aligned to majors, rather are industry and affinity based.
- Career Pathways are made up of customized resources, tools, programs, and services that guide students towards a full range of opportunities for life after graduation. These resources are curated by the designated Coach who is available for one-on-one coaching and offers a variety of learning opportunities. Career Pathways are directly connected to industry and career options. They provide students with the opportunity to explore future possibilities, connect with industry professionals, and get involved in a variety of experiences that fit their unique interests.
