Overview
The University of Florida’s administrative and compliance functions are supported by two key offices: the Office of the General Counsel and the Office of Compliance and Ethics. The General Counsel provides legal advice and representation to the university and its employees on matters related to their official duties, while the Compliance and Ethics office promotes institutional integrity through policy guidance, training, and oversight of ethical and legal standards across campus operations. Together, these offices help ensure UF operates with transparency, accountability, and in alignment with its core values.
General Counsel
The Office of the General Counsel (OGC) supports UF’s education, research, and service mission by providing expert, responsive legal guidance and serving as a strategic partner to faculty, staff, and leadership. By collaborating early in the planning process, the OGC helps ensure university initiatives move forward efficiently while minimizing legal risks and delays. The office is guided by principles of client service, collaboration, accountability, professionalism, sustainability, and integrity. Contact Information.
