Ready to transform your teaching with AI? The AI Teaching Adventures FLC will guide you through a hands-on journey to seamlessly integrate artificial intelligence into your courses. Take part in six live 90-minute online sessions and explore our self-paced Canvas course, “AI Adventures.” Together, they’ll help you build AI literacy, understand ethical principles, improve your prompting skills, design accessible and engaging instruction, and boost student participation.

This FLC is designed to build a vibrant AI-focused faculty community, foster practical AI application skills, and promote ethical considerations in AI for education. Participants will gain hands-on experience during our live virtual sessions and develop projects that contribute to the evolving landscape of AI in teaching and learning at UF.

    • You’ll define different types of AI and explore student AI literacy in higher education
    • Reflect on AI’s exciting potentials and important limitations
    • Meet your colleagues through a fun AI-generated portrait activity
  2. Ethics & Policy Frameworks
    • You’ll review institutional AI policy guidelines and ethical principles
    • “Warm up your syllabus”: pinpoint exactly where to make AI use explicit and transparent
    • Address both course-level and assignment-level AI usage
  3. Prompting & Applications of AI
    • You’ll master prompting basics for text, image, and video generation
    • Compare simple versus advanced prompts and discover how parameter changes affect outputs
    • Craft and refine prompts aligned with your specific learning objectives
  4. Instructional Design with AI
    • You’ll use backward design to map your objectives to AI-enhanced activities
    • Develop authentic assessments that leverage generative AI
    • Create rubrics and feedback workflows that integrate AI support
  5. Accessibility & Inclusion
    • You’ll use AI tools to help address accessibility requirements and provide scaffolding opportunities
    • Discuss the use of AI in evaluations and student assessment
    • Consider ways to use AI effectively to support students from diverse backgrounds
  6. Student Engagement & Capstone Showcase
    • You’ll explore AI-driven techniques for motivation, collaboration, and peer learning
    • Present your six module artifacts in an exciting virtual gallery walk
    • Exchange valuable peer feedback and finalize your portfolio for ongoing reference
