Overview

Integrating technology at UF is more than offering a suite of platforms—it requires intentional alignment of tools with your teaching, learning, and research goals, clear communication, and dependable support. A robust digital ecosystem begins with identifying your learning objectives, which then shapes the choice and configuration of the right resources.

Core services at UF include Canvas for cohesive course management, UF Apps for remote access to specialized software, and instructional design consultations to customize technology to your needs. Continuous training, responsive IT support, and guidance on digital accessibility, research computing, and data security ensure that faculty and students can collaborate, innovate, and learn in a productive, secure environment.

Learning Management System (LMS): UF Uses Canvas

The University of Florida uses Canvas as its primary learning management system (LMS) to support online and blended learning. Through Canvas, instructors can create and manage courses, share content, communicate with students, administer quizzes and assignments, and provide feedback using tools like SpeedGrader and the Gradebook. Students access their courses via the e-Learning portal, where they can view materials, participate in discussions, submit assignments, and track their progress. How to request an E-Learning Course:

  • You can request your official “Registrar” course site OR a non-registrar course sandbox or training site
  • The site also contains instructions for adding a section to an existing e-Learning course site
