Overview

This Faculty Learning Community (FLC) will unite those of us at the forefront of using emerging AI technologies to adapt and create open educational resources (OER) and practices. You will identify one or more courses you teach and use AI to co-author OER for these courses.

We will work together to create educational materials and explore the boundaries of AI co-authored course content. This may involve experimenting with AI parameters, testing different models, and crafting and refining prompts. We can leverage our existing resources (lecture notes, slide decks, syllabi, etc.) along with training large language models to produce content for editing and testing with students. We will gain practical resources and guidance from UF experts in AI and instructional design. At the conclusion of the FLC, we will use best practices for sharing our materials based on our individual outputs. An integral part of learning communities is sharing our gained insights and work with the teaching and learning community at UF through Interface and/or the RiTL Symposium.
