Reimagining Assessments:
Making Learning Visible in the Age of AI
Overview
This specialized FLC addresses the critical need to reimagine student learning assessments in higher education in the age of AI. Traditional grading practices often fail to accurately measure student learning, provide meaningful feedback, or prepare students for future success. This community will explore innovative assessment approaches that prioritize learning over grading, transparency over mystery, and authentic evaluation over artificial tasks.
FLC Activities and Outcomes
Our Assessment Innovation FLCs integrate three key components:
Learning: Expert presentations on cutting-edge assessment practices
Hands-on Application: Workshop sessions for developing assessment tools and strategies
Collaborative Feedback: Deep feedback sessions for refining assessment approaches in real courses
We will meet biweekly over an academic year, listen to expert presentations, participate in workshop sessions, and implement assessment strategies with deep feedback sessions. The cohort will publicly share their reimagined assessment practices with the UF community at the end of the academic year.

This FLC meets biweekly on Thursdays starting on September 3.
