Are virtual lab simulations as effective in promoting student learning as physical labs? This workshop introduces the benefits and challenges associated with physical and virtual simulations by referencing peer-reviewed research.

In doing so, the successful incorporation of a virtual simulation in an upper division STEM course will be shared with the intention of motivating other instructors to also integrate active learning strategies into their classrooms.
