Academic Honesty is an essential part of a positive learning environment. We often assume all students come to the university with the same understanding of what is “honest” in an educational setting. It’s important to consider, however, how cultural backgrounds and educational experiences may shape students’ interpretations of this concept.

This workshop will help us reflect on our own expectations regarding academic honesty as well as offer some insight into why students may struggle to interpret and meet our expectations. Participants will develop approaches to prevent acts of academic dishonesty among students and how to address it once it occurs.
